My last reflection (:

I am very late to post my last reflection. Few weeks ago, we discussed about persuasive and illustrative paragraph. I thought those were the most difficult paragraphs because persuasive is almost same with argumentative paragraph. If you aren’t careful, in this case probably you don’t write any ‘sentence’ which is persuade the readers, other will think you write an argumentative paragraph. Then, illustrative paragraph, it is closed with descriptive paragraph, because they describe bout an object, but illustrative describes an object in general while descriptive describe an object in details, so the readers can imagine the object through characteristics or details given by writer.

At workshop, I worked in pair with Putri, she said that my paragraph were good enough (Alhamdulillah) but there were some mistake. She suggested me to type my paragraph in center, so it would me look more orderly. Then she also said did not put any hyphen in inappropriate place. Thanks, Putri,

Actually, from the first assignment (write a narrative paragraph) to the last assignment (write persuasive and illustrative paragraph), I faced some problems and the biggest was “difficult to find any idea”. What kind of topic should I write? Is it good? Is it interesting? Could I tell it to the readers? And so on.

reflection part VII

hi, guys!
this is my seventh reflection.
Actually I’m confused about what kind of reflection which I have to write for this time, but I have some new knowledge during we did the workshops last week (on Wednesday and Friday) , those are:
1. Pay attention in the way to write ‘example’:
If you write “for example” it has to be followed by comma (,)
à For example, rabbit, cow, bla bla bla..
While if you write “the example(s)” it has to be followed by to be is/ are
à the example(s) is/ are (without comma) rabbit, cow, bla bla bla.
2. When you not really sure with the spelling of some words, just consult the dictionary.
3. As we had learned in our structure class, if “because” is located in front of sentence we have to use “comma” between independent clause and dependent clause, but if “because” is located in the middle of the sentence or after independent clause we may not use “comma”.
I think that’s all, guys..

reflection part VI

Assalamu'alaikum ..

In Wednesday was the last meeting for presentation about paragraph in our writing course. There were three presenters at that day, Trias, Lilis and Zaky. Trias presented about a paragraph, the topic is the important of homework, which she said as persuasive paragraph. Her reason is because in the end of the paragraph, there is a statement which asks the reader s for doing their homework as soon as possible. However it is not, it is an exposition paragraph, because the writer tries to tell the reader why does homework is important. If the paragraph is persuasive, it would give statements that persuade the reader from the beginning of paragraph. The second presenter was Lilis, she presented about classification paragraph with a little modification and clear process analysis paragraph. And the last presenter is Zaky, she also presented about a clear classification paragraph. Good Job, guys!

The next assignment is we have to write about process analysis and definition paragraph, good luck, everybody ! ^__^

reflection part V

ا لسلا م عليكم ...
Sorry, I’m late to post my reflection.

There were many presenters last week, and most of them were able to identify type of their paragraphs.
Good Job, guys
! :)

Note:
1. Topic consist of word or phrase.
2. Topic sentence consists of a sentence. It explains what happen with the topic.
3. Topic and topic sentence not only appear in the beginning or in the end of a paragraph, but sometimes it placed in the middle of paragraph.
4. A paragraph sometimes is opened by one or more sentence, but it not consist of the topic. That is common, and that is part of supporting details.

In the class Miss. Vita said that if we face some problems in our learning process, we should meet her and try to tell and discuss our problems…

reflection part IV

Hi, how's everything guys!
Now I'll write some points that I got from today's meeting.
Let's check this out:
There were 6 presenters who presented their paragraphs this morning, Riza, Via, Aini, Dini, Mega and Nisa.
@Riza. She presented about contrast paragraph. How to know whether the paragraph is type of contrast or comparison paragraph? She explained that contrast paragraph tells about the differences between two objects, while the comparison paragraph about their similarities.
@Via. She presented a paragraph, in her opinion it was an argumentative paragraph, because it tells about the author's
opinion about literature. But Miss.Vita said that in an argumentative paragraph the author should be determine a clear motion, it means that the author have to tell whether she/ he agree or disagree with the issue.
@Aini. She presented about a cause and effect paragraph but it was not really good paragraph, because there is no concluding sentence. Then she presented a good definition paragraph.

@Dini. Her paragraph is process analysis, because it doesn't classify anything. Then the last two presenters presented their paragraphs well.

I think that all for my reflection today.
C U later :)
